Midnight Dilemma

The bell has been rung for the fourtieth time

Not a noise or breath had moved behind the curtains

Even a spirit did not bother to see through the unclean glass windows

To see this poor vagabond waiting for attention
I feel like a jilted lover

Ready to croon a tired, broken song

Enduring the suspicious stares

Of a weary neighbor and his blunt dog

My trustworthy travel bag

Was burdening upon my shoulder

Just like these heavy eyelids

Darkening in the low-lit streets
I’ve been counting the minutes

I cannot wait for the morning

Have mercy on this traveler

Who had toiled for a well-deserved rest
A click and a clang

Mercy has heard my plea!

That poker face through the door

Sent my heart skipping with glee

This home away from home

Has welcomed me again

With you, I will sleep in peace

And take my refuge in your walls again

Crimson Shadow

Just like almost every else in the world, I am one of those who anticipated the “blood moon”. I remember, seeing a lunar eclipse when I was in high school, but not as red as this! But in posting my not-so-good pictures of this phenomenon, I’d like to be different by writing a poem to it. Everything in nature has a message to tell and so all we have to do is to listen and think about it. 🙂

Mysteriously mourning over the horizon

She wraps herself in a cloak of blood
Stained with the darkness of humanity’s iniquity
The blood moon silently wails for our vain glory
She gasps over the wickedness we have magnified
Through her veil she tries to blind herself from our lies
“Where will you go, little man, as the end approaches?
“When the light vanishes from the earth you have claimed?”

Man gape at her crimson stare
They can never fathom the warning she had dared
But in His mercy the Author of Eternity slowly unmasked her glory
Revealing the hope for those who hear and see
The song of salvation meant for humanity
The light of His glory is given freely
For those who would want a life of purity
A friendship that cost us nothing but our surrender
Removing our ashes to wear linen clothes and golden robes
Just like the passing of the moon’s deathly shadow
The pain will vanish, all tears wiped away
For a moment we hear the mourner’s song
But behind that sombre dirge
A promise of a new beginning to be revealed!

Serene Disturbance

Let me sleep, sleep, sleep
Even when the cars keep on whirling
In the city made for breaking
While the people keep on stomping
To the beat of machines humming

Let me sleep, sleep, sleep
Eyes now blank to the flashes and winks
Of blatant liars with saintly faces before lenses
Ears deaf to the noise and screeches
Of outspoken spokespeople pretending to be preachers
I carried the burden and depth
Of wonders and cares of both historian and sage
But my shoulders cannot adept
To the shifting changes in their weights

Let me now sleep, sleep, sleep
To the sugarcoated field of lies
Do not let me hear the intrigues in disguise
But could I wake up when it is thier turn to sleep, sleep, sleep?
Perhaps it shall only be when they have torn this world apart at once

Then so…
I must never sleep, sleep, sleep

A Chase for A Tango

Dance before me
You shadow of fleeting dreams
Why run away so quickly
When my grasping hands meant no harm
I hate it when you tease me
Whenever I juggle nothing with my hands
Or when I stand immovable
Or asleep in my sacred hour
Why torture me with your presence
As if you like my company
If I invite you for a dinner tonight
Must you run away without taking a bite?
Tell me how can I make you stay?
I’ll be more pursuant than any lover
Even if I give up my last penny
To keep you is priceless beyond anything
Together let’s tango away
Away from this hopeless hour

Wandering Connection

A quick poem…while waiting for a press conference:

We are silent among them
Trying to indulge in our existence
With longing eyes we look for friendship
The empty desks force us into silence
They move around with hands full
Occupied in senseless goals to frailty
Living in oblivion they restore their ego
Not sensing we are in their region
Make me speak and pour my heart
Would I not bring this place to life
Open those ears and hear me out
Until we make a connection
And a world full of life

Dream to Dream Forever

Keep those eyes closed like a little child
Dream like you’ll never wake again
Do not let go of the ribbons made of sunlight
Never stop whisking the waters made of crystals

Keep on chasing those cotton candy clouds
Drink endlessly the milky waterfalls
Dance like mad on the choco-mallow fields
Roll and crush the evergreen white paper grass

See how your golden curls whirl with the wind fairies
As your bright apple red shoes tap on its own
Embrace the rainbow curtains from the bronze pot of gold
Make faces at the sad, smiling moon

Sing along with your neighbor’s doberman
Who entertains with a bow, tie and everything like superman
Find candies and money from the community dump
With the mayor giving them away as the sugar plum

Be a hero charging the sand castle
Cutting the wicked paper dragon with mother’s old scissors
Win as many medals from a lizard gymnastics
Surf the concrete wave with your granda’s pillow volkswagen

All you can hear are chattering little boxes
With tiny ballerinas cooing with bell-like voices
Oh, please don’t let that deafening alarm wreck this world
Or I’ll wake up again on that miserable sick bed!

Revival of a Lost Warrior

Like a fallen tree I lay dying
On a barren soil battered by rage
No matter how I tried to stand up
I am pulled back into its perilous embrace

Bring me back to pastures green
Carry me beside the still waters
There let me be revived from within
And grow back to reach the sky

I once thought I can bear this earth
Its savior sung in a thousand songs
Yet I am one single warrior
In need of a thousand friends

Gather once more my scattered thoughts
Put me back into the arms of love
And sing to me unspoken grace
For in them I will find my rest
