Willing to be Illuminated and Pierced

Midnight Dilemma

The bell has been rung for the fourtieth time

Not a noise or breath had moved behind the curtains

Even a spirit did not bother to see through the unclean glass windows

To see this poor vagabond waiting for attention
I feel like a jilted lover

Ready to croon a tired, broken song

Enduring the suspicious stares

Of a weary neighbor and his blunt dog

My trustworthy travel bag

Was burdening upon my shoulder

Just like these heavy eyelids

Darkening in the low-lit streets
I’ve been counting the minutes

I cannot wait for the morning

Have mercy on this traveler

Who had toiled for a well-deserved rest
A click and a clang

Mercy has heard my plea!

That poker face through the door

Sent my heart skipping with glee

This home away from home

Has welcomed me again

With you, I will sleep in peace

And take my refuge in your walls again

Crimson Shadow

Just like almost every else in the world, I am one of those who anticipated the “blood moon”. I remember, seeing a lunar eclipse when I was in high school, but not as red as this! But in posting my not-so-good pictures of this phenomenon, I’d like to be different by writing a poem to it. Everything in nature has a message to tell and so all we have to do is to listen and think about it. 🙂

Mysteriously mourning over the horizon

She wraps herself in a cloak of blood
Stained with the darkness of humanity’s iniquity
The blood moon silently wails for our vain glory
She gasps over the wickedness we have magnified
Through her veil she tries to blind herself from our lies
“Where will you go, little man, as the end approaches?
“When the light vanishes from the earth you have claimed?”

Man gape at her crimson stare
They can never fathom the warning she had dared
But in His mercy the Author of Eternity slowly unmasked her glory
Revealing the hope for those who hear and see
The song of salvation meant for humanity
The light of His glory is given freely
For those who would want a life of purity
A friendship that cost us nothing but our surrender
Removing our ashes to wear linen clothes and golden robes
Just like the passing of the moon’s deathly shadow
The pain will vanish, all tears wiped away
For a moment we hear the mourner’s song
But behind that sombre dirge
A promise of a new beginning to be revealed!

A Chase for A Tango

Dance before me
You shadow of fleeting dreams
Why run away so quickly
When my grasping hands meant no harm
I hate it when you tease me
Whenever I juggle nothing with my hands
Or when I stand immovable
Or asleep in my sacred hour
Why torture me with your presence
As if you like my company
If I invite you for a dinner tonight
Must you run away without taking a bite?
Tell me how can I make you stay?
I’ll be more pursuant than any lover
Even if I give up my last penny
To keep you is priceless beyond anything
Together let’s tango away
Away from this hopeless hour

Dear Little Lovesick Girl

For those who are still waiting for true love (like me!). But while waiting for “The One”, I have found my love in Christ. But how does He give His heart away? Here’s a poem that I wrote while I was in my desperation moment as I sulk in those “boyfriend-less” days:

Dear little lovesick girl
Why run away with many lovers
Who cared not to love you more
Stealing only the best from you
Like wolves ready to kill an innocent lamb

Dear little lovesick girl
Can you not wait for a moment to see
The one who truly loves
The prince who will save you from that battered tower
Whisking you away without asking for a price

Dear little lovesick girl
Will you not stay and hear my song
That I’ve written for you, only for you
A song that you can sing forever with me
As I dance with you, forever with you

Dear little lovesick girl
Do not let go of that broken heart
That was shattered and burned by thousands of lovers
Who wanted nothing but to destroy
The love is meant for the one

Dear little lovesick girl
I promise I’ll gently carry your broken heart
For I know how it is to be broken and torn apart
For you and your love I was mad enough to do such a part
Open your eyes and see the bruises and stained marks
Only I can give you a brand new heart
Filled with wonder and love I had reserved for you alone
I will not ask you to pay my price
Only stay with me and be my bride

Dear little lovesick girl
I’m madly in love with you, how could you miss that love?

Wandering Connection

A quick poem…while waiting for a press conference:

We are silent among them
Trying to indulge in our existence
With longing eyes we look for friendship
The empty desks force us into silence
They move around with hands full
Occupied in senseless goals to frailty
Living in oblivion they restore their ego
Not sensing we are in their region
Make me speak and pour my heart
Would I not bring this place to life
Open those ears and hear me out
Until we make a connection
And a world full of life

The Wanderer and the Haunted

A poem for the waiting (while this correspondent was waiting for news the day before yesterday):

I silence the vision of you
So as not to daydream
In the pavement filled with dust
And rocks that lead to reality
No matter how I try to catch you
You run away, run away
Urging me to run after
Even if the chase has no price
Yet, let me ask one question
As I tread this pointless road
Would you still haunt me
Or should I ever see you again?
